Overview

When public TV in Poland invited me to their studio, I decided that being just another talking head wasn’t enough. I was determined to make my appearance more engaging.

Together with my hacker friends, we set off on a hunt. Our secret informant (also known as “radio buddy”) reported a dump of 5G tower plates at a local landfill. It sounded like geek paradise, so we rushed there faster than you can say “e-waste”.

After an epic haggling session (who said hackers don’t have business acumen?), I returned to the studio with a trophy – a 5G plate. Imagine the presenter’s face when I pulled out this wonder on air! It was my moment of glory – educating about electronic waste in prime time!

I used these precious minutes to show what treasures are hidden in landfills and how they can be processed. I also served the viewers a stronger dish – photos from landfills in India and a story about child labor. Yes, I know, not exactly material for morning coffee, but hey, someone has to shake those cups!

Main reflection

Did my educational crusade cut through the cacophony of influencer news? It’s hard to say. But one thing is certain – for a moment, the topic of waste was sexier than morning gossip. And that’s what I call recycling attention!
