Avatar’s funeral reception

Overview

Following the extremely shocking suicidal act of my Instagram avatar, I received an unexpected outpouring of condolences from followers worldwide.

This global response inspired a unique community initiative.

I encouraged my followers to organize small gatherings in their local communities.

The purpose of these meetings was twofold: to discuss the avatar’s “death” and to reflect on our societal response to the issues it represented.

To support these discussions, I prepared a set of thought-provoking questions and relevant facts for community leaders.

This resource facilitated meaningful conversations around three key themes:

❋ Sparking discussions about the environmental impact of the Internet

❋ Promoting critical thinking about our relationship with technology

Main reflection

This project successfully transformed a virtual event into real-world dialogues, effectively bridging the gap between online and offline communities.

It demonstrated the power of decentralized, locally-based conversations in addressing broader societal concerns.
