Addressing the hidden costs of Tech

Overview

I particularly value moments when I can speak up for those whose needs are often overlooked in debates with politicians and business representatives.

During the 2nd CII India Europe Business and Sustainability Conclave, I had the opportunity to represent the voice of reason.

I drew attention to pressing issues that are often missed in discussions about sustainable technology development:

❋ The growing energy demand from data centers

❋ Unsustainable data management practices

❋ The escalating problem of uncontrolled influx of electronic waste from Europe to India

My statement aimed to make participants aware that the pursuit of technological progress must go hand in hand with a responsible approach to natural resources.

I emphasized that ignoring these problems can lead to serious ecological and social consequences, especially in developing countries.
