Overview

Imagine a ZIN trying to convince Gen Z to put down their smartphones.

Mission impossible? Well, I like challenges!

The secret weapon to push forward behavioral change?

Create a sense of urgency by providing shocking facts about streaming and evoking a sense of environmental threat. I took as an example one of the most popular rappers in Poland and his music video on YouTube, then calculated how much energy was generated by streaming its millions of views.

Spoiler alert: it would be enough to power several million smartphones for a day.

Additionally, the ZIN contained advice on how to store thousands of selfies in a way that uses less energy.

We also offered advice on how to take care of your “digital well-being” – because unfortunately, in today’s times, we still need instructions on how not to check our phones every 5 minutes.

And the cherry on top? The magazine was printed using RISO technique – because if we’re going to kill trees, let’s do it with class and nostalgia for the 90s.

Remember: reading this magazine may cause a decrease in followers and an increase in real social interactions.
