Overview

The European Space Agency, in partnership with the European Youth Capital Lublin 2023, launched “The Science Now: Direction Earth” project to reshape perspectives on global challenges. I was invited to lead a panel discussion and facilitate a workshop as part of this initiative.

Main objectives

My primary goal was to illuminate the ecological consequences of technology, heightening awareness about the environmental impact of our digital world among creative campus participants. I also emphasized how user habits and behaviors contribute to this effect, underscoring the importance of individual choices in molding our technological footprint.

Support for creative campus: I equipped participants with tools and knowledge to incorporate environmental considerations into their solutions. The main challenge was to enhance understanding of how proposed innovations affect both natural and social ecosystems.

Implementation of a foresight workshop: I guided participants through a basic foresight process, posing key questions to boost awareness of the long-term implications of technological innovations. This activity involved collaborating with attendees on a strategic approach to balance technology, environment, and societal needs in their ideation process.

Outcome

Participants developed the ability to integrate regenerative development principles into their work, laying the foundation for future-oriented solutions that foster a responsible approach to technological advancement.
